The Long Shadows Pedestal Merlot is a rich, complex wine crafted under the guidance of renowned Pomerol vintner Michel Rolland. It consists of 84% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a hint of Malbec. The wine presents dark fruit aromas with notes of tobacco, violets, and leather, leading to flavors of ripe plums, chocolate, blackberries, and spicy clove. It boasts a full-bodied, opulent mouthfeel with chalky tannins and a prolonged finish. Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels (85% new), it provides a satisfying balance of depth, richness, and elegance, culminating in a beautiful finish marked by mocha and sour orange notes.
